Finn Walker

Born in Detroit in 2001, Finn Walker is the drummer and percussionist of American alternative rock band Black Avenue, known for his energetic playing and naturally expressive performance style. Walker developed an interest in percussion at an early age, drawn to the physical intensity of rock drumming and the relationship between rhythm and musical emotion. His influences range from stripped-back garage rock to heavier alternative rock, with an emphasis on powerful grooves and dynamic performances. Rather than pursuing technical complexity for its own sake, Walker developed a playing style built around strong backbeats, energetic fills and natural rhythmic movement. He joined Black Avenue in 2022, completing the line-up alongside vocalist Jake Harlow, guitarist Caleb Price and bassist Owen Graves. His arrival gave the band a more aggressive rhythmic foundation, while his musical chemistry with Graves helped establish the thick, groove-driven character of their arrangements. Walker plays an important role in shaping the band's dynamic contrasts, moving between restrained verses and explosive choruses with an instinctive sense of timing. On Black Avenue's debut single Gasoline, his punchy drumming provides the momentum beneath the song's distorted guitars and provocative vocals. As the band enters its debut chapter, Walker remains committed to preserving the raw energy of live rock performance while continuing to develop his rhythmic versatility.
