Tyler Hayes

Tyler Hayes is an American drummer and percussionist whose energetic playing provides much of the momentum behind Los Angeles indie-rock band Silver Saints. Born in 2003, Hayes developed an early fascination with drums, drawn to the physical excitement of live rock performances and the way rhythm could transform the emotional character of a song. His musical approach combines the direct energy of alternative rock with the rhythmic precision of contemporary indie pop. Rather than relying on excessive technical complexity, Hayes favours strong backbeats, crisp percussion and carefully placed fills that reinforce a song's melody. In 2023, Hayes joined vocalist Ethan Cole, guitarist Miles Carter and bassist Noah Brooks, completing the Silver Saints line-up. His arrival introduced a more spontaneous, energetic character to the band's developing sound. Working closely with Brooks, Hayes established a rhythmic foundation that allowed the group's bright guitar melodies and expressive vocals to move naturally between restrained verses and expansive choruses. The band's debut single, Conversation Dancer, showcases his ability to balance energetic percussion with melodic accessibility. As Silver Saints enter their debut chapter, Hayes remains focused on preserving the excitement of live performance while exploring more varied rhythmic arrangements. His playing reflects the band's wider philosophy: energetic music should feel spontaneous, memorable and emotionally engaging rather than mechanically perfect.
